The first annual Marathon Residency Week for Level 5 Fine Art Students
The first annual Marathon Residency Week for Level 5 Fine Art Students and Staff at the University of Wolverhampton
This week is a chance to explore, challenge, discuss, critique and situate your studio practice in a simulated artistic residency environment. As the title suggests this will be a marathon of thoughts, ideas and making, it will require stamina, passion, hard work and hopefully a lot of socialising along the way.
The week aims to create an intensive studio environment for both Level 5 students and staff from the Fine Art course, over a four day period.
The idea is simple, we aim to be in the studios for an extended all day period over 4 days, from dawn until late! It will give students and staff chance to focus on a particular practical and/or theoretical area of their practice within supportive, busy and real life studio environment. It will give students the chance to see each other work, as well as find out about the practice and working styles of members of staff too! We will all be working alongside each other.
There will be a range of activities to accompany these days including a daily briefing, reflection sessions, critiques, coffee breaks, a daily pot luck lunch, as well as a micro pop up exhibition in the studios and online via out Marathon blog page.
