Sculpture Group

A Sculpture Group is being formed with the purpose of promoting the practice and study of sculpture within Fine Art at all levels.

If you have an interest in developing a sculpture practice, would like to learn/share skills, materials and processes, discuss issues, go to sculpture shows and produce and show your own work – or have any other ideas or suggestions – then please come along to the first meeting.

First meeting: Wednesday 6th November at 2pm, in the Foundry, part of the ground floor ‘Sculpture Facility’. From the foyer, go down the corridor, left past the screenprinting workshop, right down through the ceramics workshop MK022, and through the door at the end.

Richard-Deakon-Trips

 Lecture: 7.30pm Thu 5 Dec 2013

Richard Deacon is a leading figure in British sculpture and has been surprising us with sculptures of supreme beauty for over thirty years. It is often the tension between these two aspects – the unusual, perhaps organic shape, with a surface skin that is both of the work and alien to it – that makes Deacon’s art so striking.
